Tomorrow I head back to Wake Forest. Work will start Tuesday and classes will begin on the 23rd. It has been such a special holiday. I've been able to see so many family members and spend such quality time with those that I love. I was blessed to spend time with my best friend from high school and her daughter, dear Clemson friends, sweet church friends who have poured into my life for over 20 years and of course, my parents. It has been a Charleston Christmas full of wonderful memories!
2012 is here. I can't believe it. It's hard to imagine what this year will hold. In May I'll walk across a stage in a cap and gown. It seems that life could go in so many directions. There are opportunities here and opportunities overseas. They are all good. I'm trying to patiently wait until God gives me the "go ahead" for the right one. I'm so thankful that this year started out on a Sunday. I can't imagine a better way to begin a year than being in church. Dad's sermon today was wonderful and so challenging. There is so much to think over and pray about.
I would like to share a hymn with you we sang today. This was my first time hearing it and it touched my heart. I can't help but think of resolutions today. There are so many things I know I need to work on. God is so good and so patient. I know that He's refining me and I'm so glad He never grows tired of that. But wherever we are in life, whether we are students, employed, married, single, widowed, mothers, fathers, grandparents - this song rings true. I hope it touches your heart like it did mine!
1. I am resolved no longer to linger,
Charmed by the world's delight;
Things that are higher, things that are nobler,
These have allured my sight.
2. I am resolved to go to the Saviour,
Leaving my sin and strife;
He is the true One, He is the just One,
He hath the words of life.
3. I am resolved to follow the Saviour,
Faithful and true each day;
Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth, He is the living way.
4. I am resolved to enter the Kingdom,
Leaving the paths of sin;
Friends may oppose me, foes may beset me,
Still will I enter in.
Chorus:
I will hasten to Him,
Hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, Greatest, Highest,
I will come to Thee.
PS. I took this picture with my phone on Folly Thursday night at the FBC beach house :) It was such a joy to spend that time with the youth!
